Counselor Intern

Greetings Parents or Guardians,

My name is Tatyana Gause. I am excited to have the opportunity to be a counselor intern with Miss Mangrum at Dearing Elementary School. Currently, I am a graduate student at Augusta University in the Counselor Education Program with a concentration in School Counseling. I recently graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Shortly after completing that degree, I began the Counselor Education Program at Augusta University.

While in the counseling program, I completed my practicum experience at Greenbrier High School and the first part of my internship at Langford Middle School. As a pre-service graduate student, I will be at Dearing Elementary School from August 10 – December 4, 2020. I am grateful to have had various practicum experiences in both Richmond and Columbia county schools and look forward to my experience at Dearing Elementary School

I believe children can strive for and have the capacity to fulfill their own potential with the guidance and support needed. It is my mission as a future school counselor to be that support.  I will aim to be genuine, transparent, give unconditional positive regard, and listen with empathetic understanding. It is my hope during these unprecedented times to help children build the confidence and skills needed to succeed when faced with life challenges.

In closing, I am so motivated to experience all that Dearing Elementary School has to offer!
