Meet the Teacher!

Hello, I’m Mrs. Taylor Baxter, and I could not be more excited for the upcoming school year! This will be my fifth year teaching 3rd grade at DES, and I’m looking forward to another year filled with growth, learning, and lots of fun!

My Education/Work Background:

I graduated from Augusta University in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and in 2017, I earned an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Augusta Technical College. Following my graduation, I worked for four years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in both Neonatal and Adult ICUs.

In August 2020, I began pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. I started teaching 3rd grade at DES during the 2021–2022 school year. In May 2022, I completed a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Augusta University.

In addition to my academic background, I have completed multiple endorsement programs through CSRA RESA, earning certifications in Gifted Education and the Growing Reader Program.

My Family:

My husband, Brennen Baxter, and I have been happily married for seven years. Brennen works as a User Interface Designer in Augusta, Georgia. Together, we are the proud parents of our energetic and adorable identical twin boys, Maddox and River, who are 20 months old. Our family is rounded out by our beloved fur baby, Snickers, who is 14 years old.

I’m beyond excited to meet everyone this August and begin our learning adventure together! We’re going to have an AMAZING 2025–2026 school year filled with growth, fun, and unforgettable memories!
