🍎 Meet the Teacher

Hello and welcome to third grade! I'm Mrs. Taylor Baxter, and I couldn't be more excited to for this school year! This year marks my sixth year teaching 3rd grade at Dearing Elementary School, and I truly believe third grade is one of the most exciting years of elementary school. It is a year filled with tremendous academic growth, increasing independence, confidence, and so many unforgettable memories. I can't wait to partner with your family and make this a wonderful year!

👩‍🏫 My Education & Professional Journey:

My path to teaching has been a unique one! I graduated from Augusta University in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology before earning an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Augusta Technical College in 2017.  For four years, I had the privilege of working as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in both the Neonatal and Adult Intensive Care Units. Caring for patients and their families during some of life's most challenging moments (especially during COVID) taught me compassion, patience, and the importance of building meaningful relationships.  Although I loved working in healthcare, becoming an elementary school teacher had always been my dream. In August 2020, I began pursuing that dream, and I was grateful to join the Dearing Elementary family during the 2021-2022 school year. In May 2022, I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Augusta University. I have also completed endorsement programs through CSRA RESA, earning certifications in Gifted Education and the Growing Reader Program, allowing me to continue growing as an educator and better serve every student in my classroom.

 ❤️ A Little About My Family:

My husband, Brennen, and I have been happily married for eight years. He works as a User Interface Designer in Augusta, Georgia.  Together, we are the proud parents of our energetic identical twin boys, Maddox and River, who are 2½ years old and keep us laughing every single day! Our family wouldn't be complete without our sweet 15-year-old dog, Snickers, who has been faithfully by our side. 

I can't wait for an amazing 2026-2027 school year!
