Meet The Teacher!

Hello, I am Mrs. Taylor Baxter and I am super excited about this upcoming school year!  This will be my fourth year as a 3rd Grade Teacher at DES!

My Education/Work Background:

I am a 2015 graduate from Augusta University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.  I am also a 2017 graduate from Augusta Technical College with an Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy.  Shortly after graduating in 2017, I worked as a Neonatal and Adult ICU RRT for 3 years.  I began pursuing my dream of becoming an Elementary Teacher in August of 2020.  The 2021-2022 school year was my first year teaching 3rd Grade at DES.  In May of 2022, I graduated from Augusta University with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.  I am also certified in the CSRA RESA Growing Reader Program.  I am working on my gifted endorsement and will be gifted certified by the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

My Family:

My husband (Brennen Baxter) and I have been married for six years.  My husband is a User Interface Designer in Augusta, Georgia.  Together, we have our handsome identical twin boys Maddox and River along with our fur baby Snickers.  Maddox and River are 9 months old and Snickers is 13 years old. 

I can't wait to meet everyone this August and begin our learning journey together!  We are going to have a FANTASTIC 2024-2025 school year!!
