Greetings Teachers and Parent(s),

Thank you for taking a moment to view my webpage. I hope you find some encouraging resources, quotes and ideas as the world adjust to this temporary new normal. I would like to encourage you to have some open, honest and factual dialogue with your child/children about this unforeseen event of COVID 19.  As we continue to get daily updates from the Center for Disease Control this event will pass leaving everyone with an important reminder to continue to use good healthy hygiene practices. Please try as much as possible to keep your child/children on a regular schedule with daily routines. In the coming weeks, please find resources as an extension of the Guidance Department at Dearing Elementary School. It is my hope that these resources are engaging, encouraging and helpful to parents, students and teachers as we get through this time together.

Warm Regards,

Wanda Mangrum, Guidance Counselor

Parents and students welcome back to our 2019-2020 school year where we are “Focused on Excellences”.  A year that is already under way and guaranteed to be an amazing one with the continued support of parents, students and community volunteers.

My name is Wanda Mangrum and I am the Guidance Counselor at Dearing Elementary where I have had the privilege to serve for the past 27 years.  I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claflin University and a Master’s of Education degree in Counselor Education from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina.  I also received an Educational Specialist degree from Augusta State University, Augusta Georgia.
