Mrs. Gribanow

Hello and welcome to the DES Media Center!  My name is Terrie Gribanow.  I graduated from Augusta State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 1998 and have been teaching in McDuffie County since.  Shortly after beginning my teaching career, I realized that I wanted to share my love of reading with ALL of the students in the building, so I returned to school at the University of Georgia seeking my Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and certification as a Media Specialist.   I have been the media specialist, here at Dearing Elementary, since the year 2000.  As the years rolled on, I wanted to offer more to the students at DES, so in 2005 I returned to Augusta State for my Specialiste Degree, and later in 2010 became  certified in teaching Gifted Students.

When I am not at Dearing Elementary school, I love to spend time with my family camping, cruising, and generally enjoying each other’s company.  I have been married to my husband, David, since 1992.  We have two grown children, Anne Marie and Aubrey.  I also enjoy my two little “winnie dogs”, Penny and Phineas, as well as a few “yard cats”.  My hobbies include: reading, cooking, and going on adventures.

My latest adventure is to visit, or camp at, all of the Georgia State Parks and Historical Sites.  There are currently a total of 48 state parks and 16 State Historic Sites in the state of Georgia and I can’t wait to see them all.
